We've been very fortunate to have done the fox trot with some wonderful organizations over the years.

Project Brief
The Space + Place conference was an event co-sponsored by Portland Public Schools and the AIA in an effort to create an open dialogue regarding the future of education, schools and the subject of sustainability.
The brief for this project called for a brochure to be developed that would be mailed in an envelope to homes, and it would highlight the discussions that took place during the conference and the international selection of speakers and panel guests. A requirement of the piece was that it would speak evenly to both schools and to the speakers that were brought in for the event.
Solution
In order to satisfy the requirement of speaking to two seperate audiences, the brochure was split into two sides where all body copy regarding schools was placed on one side and all copy about the speakers was placed on the reverse.
In order to further emphasize that the piece was to speak to two audiences, the text on the school side of the brohcure was set horizontally like a traditional brochure, while the text on the speaker side was set vertically to further visually separate the messages in the readers minds.
A color palette was chosen that would speak to the “green” nature of the conversations. Concentric circles were added on both sides of the design as visual elements to tie the design back together and unite the messages despite their differing orientations.
