Project Brief

The UC Davis Health Education and Promotion Department is responsible for providing education, student programs and awareness on campus surrounding health related topics. Each year the department publishes a program brochure and poster that provides information on the programs available for that calendar year.

The brief called for the development of a small, easy to digest bi-fold program brochure that would be targeted to parents and community members. The piece had to be positive, optimistic and health oriented, while highlighting the positive benefits of the university's health program.

Solution

Bright reds and oranges were chosen along with open, airy stock photography to give the piece a modern, cohesive feel. Very little copy was placed on the outside of the piece to further accent the open, healthy feel of the piece.

The inside of the brochure was split horizontally using half of the brochure to describe the programs available to students, while the bottom half talked about the yearly student internship opportunity and important department phone numbers. The final printed piece was used at all public information meetings held by the department through the course of the year.
